The Top 10 States For Residential Installed Solar Energy In Q1 2015
Greentech Media Research has released it's report entitled U.S. Solar Market Insight which lists the top 10 states in residential solar energy installed capacity for the first quarter of 2015. The list is as follows:
- California
- New York
- Arizona
- Massachusetts
- New Jersey
- Hawaii
- Maryland
- Connecticut
- Colorado
- Louisiana

California lead the quarter with 232 megawatts of residential solar capacity. GTM Research predicts California’s residential solar market will grow 71 percent by the end of 2015.
New York came in second with 45 megawatts of residential solar electric production installed. Arizona was third with 27 megawatts of residential solar installed.
The average cost for a residential solar system in the United States is now $3.48 per watt. That is a decrease in solar costs of 10 percent over the first quarter of 2014.
